{"id":579,"date":"2019-02-01T14:34:52","date_gmt":"2019-02-01T14:34:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.elic-mooc.com\/?page_id=579"},"modified":"2020-06-29T13:05:40","modified_gmt":"2020-06-29T11:05:40","slug":"assignment-1-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.elic-mooc.com\/?page_id=579","title":{"rendered":"Assignment 1.2"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the\nlesson \u201cLiteracies\u201d also addresses the new literacies disconnect between\nfaculty and students, participants are challenged to present their ideas\nworking with new media in the classroom and to share information on their\nexperiences in this regard, as well as post useful teaching materials that\nmight be useful to other teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<strong>Tasks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After\nwatching the videos, use your previous ideas in conjunction with the\ninformation from the videos to make posts on the forum and discuss the\nfollowing topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Literacy<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Did any of the definitions of\nliteracy discussed in the video match your own definition? <\/li><li>Which definition of literacy was the\nclosest to your original understanding of literacy? <\/li><li>Are any of the other definitions of\nliteracy relevant in your context? <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>New literacies and new media<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You have seen two examples of freely\navailable new media which can be used in the classroom: GeoGebra and PhyPhox.\nWhat examples, if any, of new media do you use in your classroom? <\/li><li>How do you use these media with your\nstudents? Is there an example of an activity that works well that you could\npresent for other teachers?<\/li><li>Could these new media also be used\nin other subjects? <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Interaction<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Read the\ncomments of your peer learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Is there any new media available\nthat you haven\u2019t yet tried but would like to?
